Nate is a fifth-year doctoral student in the University of Houston’s Clinical Psychology program working under the supervision of Dr. Elaine Hess. Nate is originally from New Jersey but graduated with a B.A. in Psychology from the University of California – Los Angeles. During his pursuit of a Ph.D., he received his M.A. in Clinical Psychology from the University of Houston due to his work focusing on posttraumatic stress, sleep disturbance, and suicide among
firefighters.
His previous clinical experience includes working in a variety of healthcare settings, such as a federally qualified health clinic, the Houston Fire Department, private practices, and VA medical centers. In these settings, he primarily worked with individuals experiencing symptoms of anxiety, depression, relationship concerns, and trauma, as well as other presenting concerns. Nate is also focused on helping clients with any concerns related to sleep impairments and insomnia. His current research interests focus on trauma/PTSD and factors that may increase one’s risk for suicide. In his free time, he enjoys traveling, sports, watching movies, and spending time with his
dog.
